CCSD Celebrates Future Educators

The Cherokee County School District celebrated its future educators this week!

High schools across the country held “signing day” events as part of National Teacher Appreciation Week to honor graduating seniors who plan to pursue careers in education.  All of CCSD’s high schools hosted events.

“Congratulations and thank you for choosing to pursue careers as educators to teach the next generation,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said.  “We’re grateful to their teachers and the positive influence they had on them to follow this path.  We hope to see you back in our classrooms as CCSD teachers!”

Cherokee High School Future Educators are: Natalie Brock, Khali Guion, Reagan Hawthorne, Norah Lorius and Tessie Ray. Their Career Pathway Early Childhood Education teacher is Kym McCrary.

Creekview High School Future Educators are: Emilie Cobb, , Liliana Harmon, Dixon Hewitt, Shelley Holman, Peyton Mansour, Brooke Sherrell and Easton Wechter.  Their Career Pathway Teaching as a Profession teacher is Julie Coker.

Etowah High School Future Educators are: Katherine Gantt, Ashleigh Holton, Michaela Keleher, Emily Myers, Manisha Rushing, Breanna Welton, Nora Williams and Drake Wright.  Their Family, Career, Community Leaders of America sponsor is teacher Deborah Lea-Mattson.

River Ridge High School Future Educators are: Calum Beckmann, Sydney Ellenberger, Brandon Noel and Davi Quieroz.  Their Career Pathway Teaching as a Profession teacher is Erin Heinzer.

Sequoyah High School Future Educators are: Remi Blatchford, Adasyn Hartzler, Sarah Henderson, Caroline Nelms, Kayla Scheiwe, Callie Thomason, Angelina Torres and Mallorie Zarter.  Their Career Pathway Teaching as a Profession teacher is Rachel LaChine.

Woodstock High School Future Educators are: Sarah Grace Carey, Myla Griffith, McKenzie Killian, Yolanda King, Lily McWhorter, Aaliyah Nelson and Cameron Neville.  Their Career Pathway Early Childhood Education teacher is Heather Bolt.
